Sumerian Carnelian bead necklace

Wonderful Sumerian 4500 years old necklace made out of see true carnelian and white hard stone beads.

The main carnelian bead is decorated with four round 24 karat gold pearls.

Due to the clearness of the carnelian beads you can see the old drillings.

In ancient times one could not drill a hole from one side.

Drillings were made from both sides and never reached each other at the same point.

This makes this necklace a wonderful witness of how ancient drillings were made.

One of the most beautiful necklaces I ever seen.

This necklace is complete original and complete intact.

Restrung with a wonderfull Gold clasp so that this necklace is perfectly wearable.

When worn, these beads acquire a beautiful lustre, which gives them a variety of colour shades.

Condition: Excellent.

Origin: Found in Syria nearby the ancient town of Aleppo.

Date: ca 2500 BC.
