This magnificent and extremely rare Royal tablet is made out of a black hard stone. (Black steatite).
The tablet is depicting a priest standing before a king.
The Bearded king seated on his throne is holding a palm leave; the priest is holding a parchment in his hand and a document under his arm.
Between the two men you can see a bird. (The bird of prey).
This stone tablet is very detailed; complete intact, a museum piece!
The item is coming out of the collection of the Belgian collector Bauwens H. (1947 - 2005).
It was collected in situ by the Family Bauwens early 20th Century.
The states that are called Neo-Hittite, or more recently Syro-Hittite, were Luwian, Aramic and Phoenician-speaking political entities of the Iron Age situated in northern Syria and southern Anatolia that arose following the collapse of the Hittite Empire around 1180 BC and lasted until roughly 700 BC.
This tablet was found in the area of the ancient Syrian city of Aleppo.
This tablet comes complete with wooden stand.
